On Wednesday afternoon, five-star offensive lineman Michael Fasusi from Lewisville, TX, will announce his college football commitment.
The highly sought-after prospect will choose between Oklahoma, Texas, Texas A&M, Oregon, and Missouri just after 3 p.m. in his high school’s auditorium. According to Rivals, Fasusi is ranked as the No. 11 overall recruit and the No. 2 offensive tackle in the 2025 class, making him a valuable addition to any program that secures his commitment.

With the decision just around the corner, the Oklahoma Sooners seem to be in a strong position to land the coveted offensive lineman.
Fasusi has built a solid relationship with Oklahoma’s offensive line coach, Bill Bedenbaugh, throughout the recruiting process. In January, Fasusi mentioned to Sooners on SI that he had started to form a bond with Bedenbaugh, noting that Oklahoma was at the top of his list due to their culture and the connection he felt with the coach.
Since January, Bedenbaugh and the Oklahoma staff have continued to nurture their relationship with Fasusi, visiting Lewisville multiple times and hosting Fasusi on an official visit to Norman in June.
As the announcement approaches, it appears Oklahoma’s efforts have paid off, with the team seemingly in the lead for Fasusi.

Several factors suggest that Fasusi might choose the Sooners, including the timing of his decision on August 21, which coincides with Bedenbaugh’s birthday and the five-year anniversary of Fasusi’s family’s move from Nigeria to the U.S.
Additionally, Fasusi’s high school teammate, center Sean Hutton, committed to Oklahoma earlier this summer, strengthening the Sooners’ chances. Another former teammate, Jaydan Hardy, is already a freshman at Oklahoma.

Finally, Oklahoma’s decision to focus its recruiting efforts on Fasusi, pulling back from other top offensive tackle prospects, indicates that they believe Fasusi is the right fit for their program.

With Fasusi as the last major offensive tackle target in the 2025 class, Oklahoma could complete their offensive line recruiting with his commitment on Wednesday. The Sooners already hold commitments from four-star tackle Ryan Fodje, four-star guard Darius Afalava, and three-star center Owen Hollenbeck in the 2025 recruiting class.
