Cardiff City are poised to finalize a £3 million transfer before their Championship opener against Sunderland this weekend.
According to reports from Wales, Cardiff City is nearing the acquisition of Alex Robertson from Manchester City. The initial transfer fee is set at £1 million, with potential to increase to £3 million based on various add-ons and clauses.
Wales Online has indicated that Robertson is expected to undergo a medical at Cardiff City today, as he prepares for a permanent move following his loan spell at Portsmouth last season, during which the team earned promotion from League One.
At 21, Robertson has been a target for Cardiff City for some time. It’s now reported that only minor details remain to be finalized before the deal is completed in time for the Championship opener against Sunderland. Robertson had also been the subject of interest from his previous loan club Portsmouth and Championship competitor Hull City.
