The Cincinnati Bengals received encouraging news about the health of their defensive end.
Sam Hubbard left Sunday night’s practice after a fall where his legs got tangled with a tight end’s. However, on Monday, head coach Zac Taylor assured that the injury was not serious.
“Just had a minor issue yesterday,” Taylor told reporters. “It’s not anything significant. He’ll be limited or out for a few days this week.”

Hubbard isn’t the only defensive end dealing with an injury. Trey Hendrickson also faced an issue on the first day of practice, but Taylor described it as minor as well.
Currently, Taylor says Hendrickson’s status is day-to-day.
Hubbard, who recently had ankle surgery after playing through the injury last season, was eager to return fully healthy. Although this recent incident could have been problematic, it appears he has avoided a significant setback.
Hubbard has two years remaining on his contract with Cincinnati and will play a crucial role in the defensive line alongside Hendrickson and last year’s first-round pick, Myles Murphy.
Hendrickson set to turn 30 in December and under contract through 2025, is hoping for a major contract extension but has not secured one yet. Despite requesting a trade earlier this summer, it seems that this is no longer a concern.
