University of Florida Partners with Jacksonville Jaguars
For the next four years, the University of Florida (UF) and UF Health brands will be featured and sold at Jacksonville Jaguars games, including international events. Mark Lamping, president of the Jaguars, expressed excitement about the partnership, noting UF’s close ties to Jacksonville and its contributions to education and healthcare.
The Jaguars have also recently secured a five-year, $275 million contract with quarterback Trevor Lawrence. The partnership will include joint marketing efforts, with UF’s Trustee Chairman Mori Hosseini highlighting the promising future ahead.
UF plans to establish a graduate campus in Jacksonville focusing on fintech and medical technology, with classes starting in 2025. UF President Ben Sasse emphasized the shared commitment to enhancing Jacksonville and Florida.
Although the partnership does not currently involve relocating the Jaguars temporarily, there is potential for them to use UF’s Ben Griffin Stadium during renovations of Everbank Stadium starting in 2027. This move could be challenging due to the distance from Jacksonville.
The collaboration represents a significant alliance between the NFL and NCAA, aiming to benefit both institutions and the community. As the Jaguars celebrate their 30th season, the Gators are also looking to improve their performance and make a playoff run.
