Leicester City defender Harry Souttar has become a target for both his former team Stoke City and Sheffield United this summer. According to John Percy of The Telegraph, both Championship clubs are interested in negotiating a loan deal for the Australian player.
Stoke City, aiming to capitalize on the positive momentum from the end of last season under Steven Schumacher, have already made several smart signings and are looking to push for a playoff spot for the first time in their current stint in the second tier. Meanwhile, Sheffield United, amidst ongoing takeover talks and squad reshaping under Chris Wilder, are also interested in Souttar as part of their transfer strategy.
Souttar, who initially gained recognition at Stoke before moving to Leicester City for £15 million in January 2023, is expected to leave Leicester on loan this summer. Despite joining the Foxes with high expectations, Souttar’s stock has fallen due to limited appearances and Leicester’s recent relegation to the Championship.
Both Stoke and Sheffield United would benefit from Souttar’s experience and potential, with Stoke looking to strengthen their defense and Sheffield United seeking a replacement for departing players.
