The Orlando Magic have strengthened their backcourt by signing veteran playmaker Cory Joseph, as announced by Magic president of basketball operations Jeff Weltman on July 19.
Joseph, 32, joins his seventh NBA team, having previously played for the San Antonio Spurs, Toronto Raptors, Indiana Pacers, Sacramento Kings, Detroit Pistons, and Golden State Warriors.
The 13-year veteran is expected to support starters Jalen Suggs, Cole Anthony, and Anthony Black at the point guard position next season. He will likely fill the role previously held by Markelle Fultz, who spent five seasons with the Magic.

In addition to providing depth at point guard, Joseph will bring valuable leadership to the young and promising Magic team, which features talents such as All-Star Paolo Banchero, Franz Wagner, and Wendell Carter Jr.
