Former Suns center Chimezie Metu has signed a contract with FC Barcelona, ending his six-season NBA career, as reported by Evan Sidery at Forbes Sports.
Metu, who joined the Suns on a one-year deal last season, averaged five points per game with a 50.8% shooting accuracy. He briefly earned a spot in Phoenix’s starting lineup during December and January but saw a significant decrease in minutes as the trade deadline approached.

At the deadline, the 27-year-old was traded to the Grizzlies in exchange for Royce O’Neale but was subsequently released by Memphis and later signed by the Pistons.
During the latter part of the 2024 season with Detroit, Metu averaged 10 points per game, with five games where he scored 15 or more points.
Now, Metu will continue his basketball career in the EuroLeague with FC Barcelona, aiming to build on his strong finish to last season.
