Breaking News: Denver Nuggets’ First-Round Pick Suffers Season-Ending Injury in Summer League Opener

LAS VEGAS — Denver Nuggets’ first-round draft pick, DaRon Holmes, tore his Achilles and is expected to miss the 2024-25 season, league sources told ESPN.

Holmes sustained the injury during the Nuggets’ 88-78 defeat to the LA Clippers in their summer league opener and left Cox Pavilion on crutches.

Selected 22nd overall from Dayton, Holmes scored 11 points and grabbed seven rebounds in 26 minutes of play.

This injury significantly impacts the Nuggets’ roster depth, as the 6-foot-9 Holmes was anticipated to serve as a key backup big man for Denver this season.
