Florida Gators Lose Four-Star Prospect to In-State Rival

Mike Norvell and the Florida State Seminoles have secured another four-star verbal commitment for #Tribe25, making all 10 of their 2025 commits blue-chips. This commitment is particularly satisfying, as FSU’s latest gain is a loss for the University of Florida.

Peyton Joseph, a 6’3”, 310-pound offensive lineman from Houston County High in Warner Robins, Georgia, is currently ranked as the 183rd-best prospect in the nation by 247Sports Composite (9th best interior OL, 27th best player in GA).

Joseph originally committed to UF in mid-February but continued visiting Tallahassee, leading many to anticipate an eventual flip to FSU. In addition to turning down the Gators, Joseph also chose the Seminoles over the Memphis Tigers, who posed a serious challenge after securing a commitment from his teammate and quarterback, four-star Antwann Hill (the Gators were also a finalist for Hill).

Joseph had received over two dozen other offers, including from the Alabama Crimson Tide, Georgia Bulldogs, Kentucky Wildcats, LSU Tigers, Miami Hurricanes, Michigan Wolverines, Michigan State Spartans, Ole Miss Rebels, Oregon Ducks, Penn State Nittany Lions, South Carolina Gamecocks, Texas Longhorns, and Texas A&M Aggies.
