Carlton has made two changes for its Round 17 clash with GWS.
After being a late withdrawal last weekend against Richmond, Tom De Koning returns for the important away game against the Giants.
The ruckman was in career-best form leading up to the win over the Tigers, and he’ll be looking to continue that momentum in a significant head-to-head matchup with Kieren Briggs.
De Koning will be joined by his close friend Matthew Cottrell, who will play his first game since Round 9.
The hard-running forward was pivotal in the first half of the season for the Blues before a foot injury sidelined him following the narrow win over Melbourne. After completing recent training sessions, Cottrell has been named on the bench alongside Alex Cincotta, Lachie Cowan, Orazio Fantasia, and Matthew Owies, with the sub to be announced an hour before the game.
In additional positive news for the Blues, Matthew Kennedy has been named after recovering from a knee injury that took him out of the last quarter against Richmond.
Coming out of the side are last week’s sub George Hewett and Marc Pittonet (both omitted).
