A former Indianapolis Colts player is under investigation due to serious allegations related to his teenage son’s disappearance. The Indiana State Police are searching for 14-year-old Bryson Muir, who is considered “missing and endangered.” Bryson’s parents, Daniel Muir, a former defensive tackle for the Colts, and his wife, Kristen, did not attend a scheduled meeting with law enforcement earlier this week, according to NBC Chicago.
A Silver Alert was issued on Friday for Bryson, who is described as 6 feet 2 inches tall, 185 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing an orange Under Armour shirt and blue jeans.
Daniel Muir, who played for the Colts from 2008 to 2011, started his NFL career with the Green Bay Packers after going undrafted in 2007. At Kent State, Muir played in 45 of 46 games, ranking third in school history for career sacks and seventh for tackles-for-loss. He accumulated 198 tackles, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and one interception during his college career.
The 14-year-old was last seen on June 16 with his mother in the Cleveland, Ohio area. His grandmother, Cheryl Wright, reported his disappearance to the police, expressing her concern for Bryson’s safety.
Investigators from the Indiana State Police and the Department of Child Services visited the Muirs’ home on June 27, which is located on the property of a religious group called the Servant Leader’s Foundation. Despite agreeing to meet with investigators on June 28, the Muirs canceled an hour before the meeting, indicating their reluctance to cooperate.
Police suspect Bryson may have been a victim of domestic abuse. A photograph provided by his grandmother allegedly shows Bryson with a black eye. Authorities believe he is in immediate danger and are actively searching for him.
