Essendon Compelled to Make Another Last-Minute Adjustment for Geelong Clash

Essendon has been compelled to alter their 23-man squad for Saturday’s game against Geelong due to illness. Defender Jake Kelly will miss the match, with fringe forward Jye Menzie stepping in. Menzie moves from the emergency list to the starting lineup, while Alwyn Davey Jr is now on standby.

This adjustment adds to the earlier omission of first-year forward Nate Caddy, who was replaced by recruits Todd Goldstein and Jade Gresham. Goldstein returns after a rest and will partner with primary ruckman Sam Draper, while Gresham is back after missing last week’s game against West Coast for personal reasons.

Caddy, along with midfielder Ben Hobbs and Davey, has been named as an emergency. Essendon will face Geelong at the MCG on Saturday night at 7:30 pm (AEST), with a win potentially elevating the team back into the top two on the ladder.
