Tiger-Cats Secure Dynamic Wide Receiver

HAMILTON — The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have announced the addition of American receiver Davon “Smoke” Harris to their roster.

Harris, 24, had an impressive season at Louisiana Tech University in 2023, appearing in 12 games. Throughout these games, he recorded 83 receptions, amassing 796 yards and scoring four touchdowns.

A native of St. Francisville, Louisiana, Harris stands at five-foot-seven and weighs 180 pounds. Over five seasons with the Bulldogs from 2019 to 2023, he participated in 61 games. During this period, he accumulated 308 receptions, totaling 2,908 yards, and achieved 23 touchdown receptions. Harris was also a significant contributor in the return game, with 41 kick returns for 992 yards and 82 punt returns for 829 yards, including one touchdown.

Harris’s time at Louisiana Tech was marked by numerous accolades. He earned All-Conference USA honors in four of his five seasons. Notably, he was named to the first team in both 2023 and 2022, and he made the second team in 2021 and 2020. His consistent performance and contributions to his team highlight his talent and potential as he joins the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

With Harris’s signing, the Tiger-Cats are bringing in a player with a proven track record of success in both receiving and return duties. His versatility and experience make him a valuable addition to the team as they prepare for the upcoming season.
