According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Pistons will acquire shooting guard Wendell Moore Jr. and the 37th pick in Thursday’s draft from the Timberwolves. In exchange, Minnesota will receive the 53rd selection.
This trade acts as a minor salary dump for the Timberwolves, who will offload Moore’s $2.5 million contract for next season. Minnesota had picked up Moore’s third-year option last October.
Minnesota is trading Wendell Moore Jr. and the No. 37 pick in today's Day 2 of NBA draft to Detroit, sources say.

Moore, 22, was originally drafted by Dallas with the 26th pick in the 2022 draft before being traded to Houston and then to Minnesota. He has had limited playing time in the NBA, appearing in a total of 54 games, including 25 this season, where he averaged just 3.0 minutes per game.
This is the first trade to surface on what is expected to be a busy day of transactions, as the NBA draft has expanded to two days for the first time.
