Controversy Erupts as Jets QB Faces Lawsuit from Ex-Girlfriend

New York Jets quarterbacks seem to attract distractions, and now the backup is no exception. Tyrod Taylor is facing a lawsuit from his ex-girlfriend, Draya Michele, for breach of contract over a house deal.

According to the lawsuit obtained by TMZ, Michele, 39, claims that Taylor, 34, agreed to let her buy a house he purchased in Los Angeles in 2022. They allegedly made a verbal agreement that any investment Michele made would count towards the final price. However, after agreeing to a $3.2 million deal for the house, Taylor, who signed a two-year deal with the Jets this offseason, changed his mind. Michele alleges that Taylor has recently threatened to evict her and is refusing to sell her the property.

TMZ reported that Taylor “surprisingly” reneged on their agreement, leaving Michele in a difficult position. The New York Post noted that Taylor and Michele broke up last year after dating since 2020.

Michele, the creator of the bathing suit company Mint Swim, appears to have moved on quickly. She recently had a daughter with Houston Rockets guard Jalen Green, 22. On Instagram, Michele shared her feelings about the new addition to her family, especially in light of her father’s passing in 2021. She expressed gratitude for her new memories with her daughter, born on Mother’s Day.

Meanwhile, Jets’ starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers also made headlines for his absence from the team’s minicamp. Jets coach Robert Saleh explained that Rodgers missed the camp to attend an “event,” which Saleh deemed an “unexcused” absence.
