Report: Milwaukee Brewers’ Trade Target Now Off the Market

The Milwaukee Brewers are expected to keep an eye on the starting pitching trade market in the upcoming month. While they will have some players returning, their priority should be to acquire a pitcher with ace potential before the July 30 trade deadline. According to Bob Nightengale, one of their potential targets is now unlikely to be traded.

As of June 24, the Brewers’ starting rotation includes Freddy Peralta, Colin Rea, Bryse Wilson, Tobias Myers, and Carlos Rodriguez. Rea has been their most consistent pitcher this season. Peralta recently had a strong performance after a rough period, Myers has had four impressive starts, and Rodriguez has made three appearances in his major league career.

Jakob Junis, who started one game earlier in the season, is now a reliever. DL Hall is pitching in the minors, and Joe Ross remains on the injured list. The Brewers will be without Brandon Woodruff, Wade Miley, and Robert Gasser for the rest of the season.

Miami Marlins pitcher Jesus Luzardo, who was previously a target for the Brewers, is now expected to stay with the Marlins due to his recent back injury and earlier elbow issues.

Other potential trade targets for the Brewers include LHP Garrett Crochet, RHP Jack Flaherty, LHP Yusei Kikuchi, RHP Erik Fedde, RHP Luis Severino, RHP Trevor Williams, and RHP Cal Quantrill.
