The Carlton Reserves have made five changes as they prepare to face Southport at IKON Park.
Following last week’s bye, the Blues have brought back four AFL-listed players as their numbers continue to rise in the second half of the season.
The match against the Sharks will feature Cooper Lord making his debut for the Club, just a month after being recruited in the mid-season draft.
The 19-year-old midfielder, who has already played at the VFL level this season, was recruited from North Melbourne’s VFL side. Today’s game will be the fourth team Lord has played for this season, including North VFL, the Sandringham Dragons (Coates Talent League), and the Young Guns representative game.
Lord will be joined by several key additions to the Blues’ midfield. David Cuningham will play his first game in six weeks after recovering from injury, and Marc Pittonet returns following a finger injury that sidelined him since the Sydney game.
Jack Carroll is back after being omitted from the AFL side, and VFL-listed youngster Darcy Hogg, son of Carlton premiership player Matthew, completes the inclusions as the 23rd player.
The players coming out of the side that narrowly lost to Essendon two weeks ago are Kristian Ferronato, Bailey Lambert, Michael Lewis, Luke Nelson, and Tom Phillips.
