The Seattle Seahawks are poised for a major change in 2024 compared to 2023.
Mike Macdonald has taken over as head coach, replacing longtime coach Pete Carroll.
Carroll is a legendary figure in the organization, and Macdonald has big shoes to fill moving forward.
While Macdonald may feel pressure taking the reins this year, he appears ready for the challenge.
One of the biggest questions for Macdonald this offseason is who will be the team’s starting quarterback.
Conventional thinking might favor Geno Smith, the current starter, to maintain his spot.
However, with rumors swirling about the Seahawks drafting a rookie quarterback, anything could happen.
Macdonald remained calm and collected when discussing the quarterback situation with Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network, stating, “We have a lot of confidence in those guys.”
“Those guys” likely refers to Smith and Sam Howell, the two top candidates for the starting role.
Howell showed promise with the Washington Commanders last season, but after they drafted Jayden Daniels this
year, he became expendable.
He could have a strong opportunity to succeed with the Seahawks, especially given the uncertain quarterback situation.
