It didn’t take long for the Miami Dolphins to encounter the consequences of their recent signing.
While going after Odell Beckham Jr. seemed promising on paper, it carried its share of risks.
Now, the former star is sidelined.
Mike McDaniel, the team’s head coach, mentioned that the 30-year-old wide receiver is dealing with an injury and is focused on his own recovery (via Omar Kelly).

He added that the team is taking a cautious and patient approach with Beckham throughout the season.
While the Dolphins aren’t counting on Beckham to be their primary wide receiver, he’s more of a luxury addition.
If he can contribute, it would only strengthen their dominance.
Beckham remains one of the most talented and athletic wide receivers in recent years.
However, he has struggled with injuries over time, limiting his time on the field.
Fortunately, the Dolphins aren’t depending on him to start the season.
Instead, they’re wisely allowing him time to recover without rushing him or risking further injury.
They’re hoping he can get into shape midway through the season and join them for a postseason run.
Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle should create ample space for Beckham to make an impact, but he needs to be on the field first.
In any case, it’s fortunate they didn’t sign him to a large contract.
