The Philadelphia Eagles have added another former Cincinnati Bengals player to their roster.
Following a tryout, the Eagles signed wide receiver John Ross III to a one-year contract. Ross, drafted ninth overall by the Bengals in 2017, is widely regarded as one of the team’s biggest draft busts.
The 28-year-old has not appeared in an NFL game since 2021 and announced his retirement in 2023 after a brief period with the Kansas City Chiefs. His best season was in 2019 when he recorded 506 receiving yards and 29 receptions.

Over his four seasons with the Bengals, Ross accumulated a total of 733 receiving yards. He joined the New York Giants in 2021, where he had 20 targets and 11 receptions.
Ross now joins a group of former Bengals in Philadelphia, which includes long-time tight end CJ Uzomah.
While Cincinnati will manage without these players, Uzomah’s departure, especially after contributing to the team’s Super Bowl LVI run, was a significant loss.
