Seahawks Set to Close Major Deal with Former Eagles Running Back

It seems like a former Philadelphia Eagles player may soon have a new chance elsewhere. Rashaad Penny, who joined the Eagles in the 2023 season but had limited playtime due to the team’s deep roster in the running back position, is now exploring his options as a free agent. Recent reports suggest he’s met with the Seattle Seahawk, indicating a potential move.

Penny, aged 28, is seeking a fresh start after his stint with the Eagles, where he only played in a few games. Despite being drafted by the Seahawks in 2018 and having a standout season in 2021, injuries have plagued his career, limiting his appearances over the past two years. It’s likely he’ll have to settle for a short-term contract with his next team due to these injury concerns.

While there’s a possibility of reuniting with the Seahawks, a return to Philadelphia seems improbable due to their already stacked running back lineup. Nonetheless, there’s optimism that Penny will secure a new opportunity soon, allowing him to showcase his potential once again.
