Tiger-Cats Trade with Top NFL Team Green Bay Packers to Land Key Player

HAMILTON — On Friday, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced the signing of defensive lineman Jason Lewan.

Lewan, aged 25, recently competed for the San Antonio Brahmas in the United Football League (2024) following his stint as an undrafted free agent with the Green Bay Packers in the National Football League (2023).

Standing at six-foot-six and weighing 285 pounds, Lewan hails from Yorkville, Illinois. During his time at Illinois State University from 2018 to 2022, he participated in 47 games, accumulating 100 total tackles, 10 tackles for loss, five quarterback sacks, eight passes defended, two forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, and one blocked kick. Originally focusing on offense during his high school years at Yorkville High School, Lewan later transitioned to the defensive side of the ball during his redshirt season at Illinois State.
