At 32 years old, Tomlinson brings a wealth of NFL experience to Seattle. Initially a lesser-known player in high school, he earned recognition at Duke University, where he was named a freshman All-American in 2011 and later a consensus All-American upon graduating in 2014.

Drafted by the Detroit Lions in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft, Tomlinson spent two seasons with the franchise before being traded to the San Francisco 49ers in 2017 for a fifth-round pick.

Tomlinson’s career highlights include a Pro Bowl selection in 2021 and a subsequent three-year, $40 million deal with the Jets. Over two seasons with the Jets, he started all 34 games before being released as part of the team’s offensive line revamp this offseason.

Throughout his career, Tomlinson has displayed consistency, starting 138 games over nine seasons, averaging 15.3 games per season.

As Tomlinson moves to the Seahawks, the Jets have been busy reshaping their offensive line to protect quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Notable additions include Tyron Smith, Morgan Moses, and John Simpson. Alijah Vera-Tucker, a former first-round pick, is also slated for a permanent position at right guard in the upcoming season. With these changes, the Jets are optimistic about bolstering their offensive line for the upcoming campaign.
