Chase Claypool’s NFL journey seems to be on a disappointing path following a lackluster stint with the Miami Dolphins. This was further emphasized when he was recently added to the exclusive negotiation list of the CFL’s Saskatchewan Roughriders.
Being a native of British Columbia, a move to the CFL would mark a return to his roots for Claypool. However, it’s not a path he desires. As a second-round pick for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2020, Claypool had a promising start, earning a spot on the PFWA All-Rookie Team after scoring nine touchdowns. He aims to continue his career in the NFL, and the Seattle Seahawks might offer him that opportunity.

According to Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team, the Seahawks hosted Claypool for a free-agent visit on Tuesday. Following a turbulent trade to the Chicago Bears and subsequent transfer to the Dolphins last October, Claypool’s performance dwindled, with only four receptions for 26 yards.
While the Seahawks boast a formidable starting receiver duo in DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett, along with last season’s first-round draft pick Jaxon Smith-Njigba, uncertainty looms beyond this trio on the team’s receiving depth chart. Claypool could potentially secure a place on the final 53-man roster if his visit results in a signing. However, given the recent trajectory of his career, this prospect may remain uncertain.
