Gators Set to Secure Star QB After His Visit Altered Decision

Recently, the Florida Gators have welcomed several top quarterback prospects to their campus, including some from the class of 2026.

Noah Grubbs, a 2026 quarterback from Lake Mary, FL High School, visited earlier this week and described the experience as significant in his recruitment journey.

“Florida’s trip was much needed in my recruitment,” Grubbs remarked. “I haven’t spent a lot of time recently communicating with them, so it was nice to finally be on campus and in the coach’s presence.”

Although Grubbs had visited the campus before, this visit was more extensive, allowing him to explore everything the coaching staff has in place for their players.

“The major difference in this visit to Florida was the time I spent with the strength staff,” he noted. “They truly value developing the quarterback position, and there’s a specific coach that strictly works with quarterbacks only, which is extremely important.”

Grubbs also had the opportunity to observe practice and was impressed by the tempo of the offense and the performance of quarterback Graham Mertz.

“I loved the tempo of the offense and [Graham] Mertz is really fun to watch,” Grubbs commented. “He’s in complete control of the offense, and I love how he processes things in his progression. Coach [Billy] Napier is a fun coach to play for from my observations, and I love how Coach [Ryan] O’Hara develops quarterbacks during practice.”

Offensive analyst Ryan O’Hara spent time with Grubbs off the field, discussing how Grubbs’ skills align with what the Gators aim to achieve on offense.

“In my 1 on 1 time with Coach [Ryan] O’Hara, he broke down my game,” Grubbs shared. “He compared it to Anthony Richardson throw for throw, and it was great to hear how much he loved that I’m able to make all the throws, so it opens up the offense for me.”

Grubbs was also impressed by head coach Billy Napier’s vision for the program and his emphasis on building a positive culture.

“After spending more 1 on 1 time with Coach Napier, I really love the vision he has for Florida,” Grubbs said. “I love how he talks about real change in culture, and I think he’s doing a great job of it, and he wants to recruit not just quality players but quality young men. I can see myself playing for those guys.”

Following the visit, Grubbs acknowledged that the Gators have improved their standing among his top schools, which include Notre Dame, Miami, Ohio State, Michigan, and others.

“The visit changed a lot for me on where Florida is in my top schools,” Grubbs admitted. “They’re in my top for sure.”

Grubbs aims to make a decision by the end of July, with several schools currently high on his list.
