Jannik Sinner has acknowledged feeling surprised by his exceptional performance at the start of the season, particularly after defeating Daniil Medvedev in the semi-finals of the 2024 Miami Open. He reflected on whether this dominant win surpassed his victory over Medvedev in the Australian Open final, deeming the latter “more special.”
Sinner showcased an outstanding performance, defeating Medvedev 6-1, 6-2 in just over an hour in the Miami Open semi-finals. The Italian aims to secure his second ATP Masters 1000 event title and first Miami Open title, having been a finalist in 2021 and 2023. He will face Grigor Dimitrov in the title match after Dimitrov defeated Alexander Zverev in the semi-finals.
Having now won five consecutive matches against Medvedev after initial struggles, Sinner’s head-to-head record with the world No 3 stands at 5-6.
