A former pitcher for the New York Mets encountered trouble shortly after embarking on a new career as a police officer in Nevada. Chasen Bradford, aged 34, was arrested for driving under the influence just one day after being officially sworn in with the Henderson Police Department.
Bradford, who had recently completed training at the police academy alongside 13 others, was apprehended on March 22, 2024. According to reports, he was observed driving recklessly, hitting medians, and swerving on the road.
Police pulled over Bradford’s truck at approximately 10:23 p.m. and administered field sobriety tests, which he reportedly failed. Initially claiming to have consumed only two beers, Bradford later confessed to having consumed 5 or 6 throughout the day. His blood alcohol content (BAC) was recorded at .104 during the initial test, surpassing Nevada’s legal limit of .08.
The Henderson Police Department promptly terminated Bradford’s employment, given that he was still on probation. Bradford had joined the department in September 2023.

Bradford retired from baseball after playing for the Mets and the Seattle Mariners, concluding his career in July 2022.
