It’s been reported that the Brisbane Broncos are facing competition from another Queensland club in their efforts to keep hold of promising young hooker Blake Mozer.
Mozer, who is highly regarded as the future hooker for the Broncos, is approaching the end of his contract by the conclusion of the 2025 season. As of November 1 this year, he will be free to discuss terms with other teams, including the Cowboys, Dolphins, and Gold Coast Titans.
Despite the Broncos’ intentions to keep him, Mozer is likely to attract significant interest from other clubs, with the Gold Coast Titans emerging as a potential destination. This possibility is strengthened by the fact that Mozer’s roommate, former Broncos forward and current Gold Coast Titans player Keenan Palasia, is actively mentoring him.
Palasia mentioned, “I’m living with Blake Mozer. I’ve got him tucked under my wing. At the moment, we’ve got a fair few good hookers (at the Titans), and he’s still a young fella. In the future, we’ll see how he develops, and I’ll get into his ear.”
Having represented Queensland in the Under-19s in 2023, Mozer has been part of the Broncos’ system since the age of 13. Despite his lifelong allegiance to the Broncos, he understands the need to bide his time for opportunities within the club. Currently, Mozer is honing his skills with the Souths Logan Magpies in the QLD Cup and Mal Meninga Cup.
