The LSU football coaching staff has been closely monitoring one of Louisiana’s top wide receivers, and following an impressive sophomore season, the Tigers have extended an offer to Jabari Mack.
As the top wideout in Louisiana, Mack received a scholarship offer from his hometown program, opting to forego an unofficial visit to LSU this weekend. Instead, he will visit the Bayou Bengals on Friday after receiving their offer, a moment he has eagerly awaited as his college interest continues to grow during the offseason.
A standout prospect in the class of 2026, Mack excelled during his sophomore year at Destrehan (La.), quickly rising in the rankings and garnering attention from top college programs. Standing at 6 feet tall and weighing 170 pounds, he has received offers from schools like Auburn, Florida State, Mississippi State, Nebraska, and Penn State.
With LSU now in contention for the state’s top wide receiver, they aim to continue recruiting the best talent from Louisiana following a successful 2024 recruiting cycle. The potential of the 2025 recruiting cycle is evident, but the 2026 cycle could carry even more momentum, especially considering Louisiana boasts three of America’s top five prospects in Jahkeem Stewart (DL), Blaine Bradford (S), and Lamar Brown (DL/iOL), alongside Mack.
Head coach Brian Kelly appears intent on solidifying LSU’s presence within the state, especially with the wealth of talent in the 2026 class. Mack, who will participate in a 7-on-7 tournament in Miami this weekend with the U18 squad, remains a prime target for the Tigers as they continue their pursuit of top skill position players in Louisiana’s rich football landscape.
