LSU’s football staff remains focused on recruiting several top prospects in the 2025 cycle, including the highly-ranked No. 3 wide receiver in the nation, Kaliq Lockett.
Hailing from Sachse, Texas, the 6-foot-1, 175-pound Lockett is scheduled to visit Baton Rouge along with two others on April 12 to explore the campus and meet with Brian Kelly’s Tigers.
During the Spring Game weekend, Lockett will have the opportunity to interact with numerous key targets from both the 2025 and 2026 recruiting classes.
Coming off visits to Texas A&M and TCU in January, Lockett has four more visits planned this spring, including stops at Florida State, Ohio State, Penn State, and LSU on April 12.
LSU’s wide receivers coach and co-offensive coordinator, Cortez Hankton, has been actively pursuing Lockett’s commitment. The Tigers offered Lockett last fall and have intensified their efforts to secure his commitment, recognizing him as one of the top five wide receivers in the 2025 cycle.
Currently boasting the No. 1 recruiting class in the 2025 cycle, LSU has already secured commitments from top prospects such as Bryce Underwood (No. 1 QB), Harlem Berry (No. 1 RB), and Dakorien Moore (No. 1 WR).
Adding Lockett to this talented class would be another significant achievement for LSU as they aim for a historic recruiting haul in the upcoming cycle. The Tigers have already secured a commitment from Moore, the top wide receiver prospect in the 2025 class.
Moore brings advanced route-running skills, exceptional speed, and impressive ball-handling abilities to LSU’s roster. His ability to change gears effortlessly and make contested catches highlights his potential to become an elite playmaker for the Tigers in the future.
