The upcoming months promise to be relatively uneventful for Notre Dame on the recruiting front as they finalize plans for official and unofficial visits throughout the offseason. However, there’s anticipation surrounding the return visit of Buford High School’s star cornerback, Devin Williams, in the 2025 class from Buford, Georgia. Notre Dame’s coaching staff has held Williams in high regard for some time now, and despite a weather-related delay preventing his attendance at Junior Day recently, Williams is set to return to South Bend on April 3rd, offering him the opportunity to observe a spring practice.
Expressing his enthusiasm for the trip, Williams shared, “I’m excited any time I can get to South Bend.” This visit marks his third overall trip to Notre Dame and the first since attending the Ohio State game last season, underscoring mutual interest between Williams and the Irish program. Notre Dame has a chance to further solidify their relationship with the talented cornerback, who has demonstrated exceptional skills on the field. In his junior year, Williams showcased his prowess with 21 total tackles, five pass breakups, a fumble recovery, and two blocked kicks on defense. Additionally, he displayed versatility on offense, amassing 392 yards and two touchdowns on just 14 receptions, averaging an impressive 28 yards per catch alongside Nebraska signee Dylan Raiola in 2024.
With offers from several elite college football programs, including Notre Dame, Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, and Michigan, among others, Williams is a highly sought-after prospect. He currently holds a consensus four-star rating and is ranked among the top 175 players in the 2025 class across various recruiting platforms. ESPN ranks him highest, placing him at No. 71 overall and No. 9 among cornerbacks in the class.
