Fresh from his attendance at Junior Day, Auburn has secured a commitment from tight end prospect Hollis Davidson, standing at 6 feet 5 inches and weighing 238 pounds. Hailing from Georgia, Davidson becomes Auburn’s eighth commitment in the recruiting cycle and the second tight end commitment under Ben Aigamaua’s tenure. In the industry-generated 247Sports Composite rankings, Davidson is positioned as the No. 369 player overall, the 21st tight end, and the 42nd player from Georgia.
Davidson previously visited Auburn during a fall game and returned for Junior Day. His family ties to Auburn, with grandparents and great-grandparents on his mother’s side having attended and graduated from the university, played a significant role in his decision. Reflecting on his Junior Day experience, Davidson expressed enthusiasm for the exceptional facilities, favorable weather, and warm reception from the coaching staff and fellow recruit Ryan Ghea.
With three tight ends set to graduate after the 2024 season, Davidson’s commitment fills a crucial position need for Auburn. He joins what is expected to be a three-man class of tight ends for the 2025 recruiting cycle.
Ben Aigamaua’s dedicated recruitment efforts, along with assistance from tight ends assistant coach Logan Bradley, were instrumental in securing Davidson’s early commitment, despite interest from other notable programs such as Miami, Penn State, Florida, Florida State, Georgia Tech, and Cincinnati. Davidson particularly appreciated Aigamaua’s family-oriented approach and Bradley’s welcoming demeanor during his visit.
Davidson’s family sports legacy includes his father’s volleyball tenure at Penn State and his aunt’s achievements as an All-American volleyball player for the Nittany Lions, followed by coaching at Notre Dame.
During his junior season at McIntosh, Davidson showcased his skills by catching 30 passes for 436 yards and scoring three touchdowns.
